I bought '99 y8 tranny from canadian 1.6 EL acura, about 50$ USD (70$can) only because input shaft bering was scrap. I replaced seal and bering, cleaned everything well with varsol, check every part if something else is going wrong.

We can see on these pics casting cleaned, gears, final drive, some things who made me sad.

Yeah I know snap ring pliers are good, I used that, but I got some trouble to remove casing while holding snap ring open. It's my first honda tranny opening, It will surrely go better next ones !

You see a 250$ tranny for sure, The man I bought this tranny, remove it only because it had scrap bering (only 110 000k/65 000miles)and sell it for 70$CAN (He think this tranny was scrap and only good to take some parts to rebuild another one),well, bering and seal was 25$CAN for both... It was lil crappy too into casing before cleaning, but not that much !

With oil/tranny/gasket maker/bering ans seal I'm around 100$USD. I like deal and people who know nothing in mecanic ! :)
