Hello!

Thanks for allowing me into the crazy world of Hondas. I currently drive a 2005 mazda 6 hatchback, but I'm looking to make the jump to a 90s civic sedan. I've been a Mazda guy for a while but my car is starting to turn into a bit of a time bomb. It has the 3.0L duratec v6 with the 5 speed, and I am just about to hit 188k miles on it. It is running fine right now, but I am scared that something major will go wrong soon.

My goal is to find arelatively clean civic sedan and turbo it. Unfortunately I live in wisconsin so rust is common on everything. Hopefully I can find something soon!

5 days into the search I still haven't been able to find a good car. Lots of coupes and hatchbacks, but no sedans. I know 5 days isn't long at all but I'm starting to get anxious about finding something.

1) Don't let your anxiety lead you in to a stupid purchase, learn form my mistakes.

2) A clean mid nineties sedan may be a few states over, make sure you don't limit your searches.

3) Happy hunting, welcome pending pics of Mazda or Civic.........

Thanks :) I thankfully have some good friends that will kill me if I make a stupid purchase. And I have been searching all of wisconsin and Illinois, and parts of Indiana, Michigan, and Iowa. I'll try to post pics of my car and bike ASAP.

And quick question, how come my post count shows 0 despite the few posts that I have made? Do they all have to be in a thread made by someone else?

Different sections of the forum are considered non-productive and there for do not generate a post count. Any "tech" section should count towards your post count. Just remember to not post whore around these area's because the Batman is always watching...

As far as finding a civic, if you have the time then search the areas that are rust free and make a trip to get it. Rust sucks!

The ad really doesn't tell a good story about the car. He has three pictures of the same driver side 3/4 view and the other shots are at night. The ad also doesn't go into depth about the overall functionality of the car so I would give them a call and start asking questions if this car interests you. Also, why in the hell does the seller have keywords that don't pertain to the vehicle at all?

Potential buyer: I'm looking for a turbo K24 EG hatch with Tein coilovers, but this stock D series sedan with lowering springs will do. :jerkit:

I'm going to look at this car today. I hope it is as nice as it appears! I find it a little bit weird that there are no interior pictures at all.

If it's clean and rust free please keep it that way.

What's wrong with the 6? Have you maintained it?

If you're looking as far as Dallas... Why not FL?

It's good and bad honestly. In FL, cars are way less likely rusty because we don't salt the roads...

But we have no required state inspections and emissions...

So there is more potential for shitty cars... A lot of people run on the very edge of "reliability". Even just considering tires since we can run summers 100% of the year, you can use them all the way to the steel lol.

Good things to note during your search.

Well the guy never showed up and stopped answering my calls. I drove two hours there for nothing. My Mazda 6 has 188,000 miles on it and the engine bay and underside is very rusty. I've only had it since 167k miles and I'm not sure how it was maintained before that.

I'm looking at Dallas because my sister lives 2 hours from there. I could fly out there and spend the day with her. It would be a nice excuse to visit.
