me and my buddy just put a new head gasket on his 93dx, we took the head, IM, and harness. when we re assembled it and plugged it all up there is no spark? also when the key is turned on all you hear is the cooling fan kick on and back off but no fuel pump????
any help would be great i have tried a few things and don't know where to go.

the fan shouldnt kick on

make sure the thermostat ground is on.
check the main relay also

I thought so too but what could be hooked up wrpng as far as plugs? most of the one wont even plug un if wrong, i double checked the shock tower...

Did you check your grounds and your main relay as sleepingciv suggested?

sounds like the ECU is priming the fan instead of the fuel pump.

well i got it to start and it runs, it was the ground on the thermostat. now it has alot of top end noise than it did previously. Ithought it could be the timing belt so i lossened it a bit but its still the same. could i be off a tooth? if so advanved or retarded?

what does your timing got to do with the noise?

Check your valve lash, It's a good thing that your trying but next time grab a manual.

The shop manual is a must. As stated above check the valve lash. If you're a tooth off it's already too late.
