I've read that the NPR Vitaras are not of the same quality as the YCP.

Do a search on NPR vs YCP.

None of the big HP builds use NPR.

The compression ratio is dependent on what motor combo you will be using. It can range from 6.9-7.8 This is due to the vitara piston dome being -15cc and the wrist pin location being higher on the piston. Your head combo will also affect compression ratio plus any machining work will also.

Play with this: Honda D-Series Compression Calculator by ZealAutowerks

Only way you will see 8.x compression is with FJT Custom I-beam Rods.

King Bearings are a failure too.

Go with FJT: FJ Distributors

Yep, YCP vitaras > Nippon. Something about the material or casting process is different IIRC.
