I know it's not a D, but just wait a sec... Today I received new rims for my 1977 VW Bus courtesy of www.cip1.com. The tires are over six years old and one day I came out to find one of them had exploded over night. The temps are down around 30 degrees lately and I guess it just couldn't take it anymore. Plus, I drive it 90mph downhill so that probably doesn't help much either. I've already installed KYB gas adjustable shocks and front/rear 22mm sway bars. Once the rims and new tires are mounted I'll be dropping the whole beast about 4-5".

Here is what happened.

Here is what arrived in the mail today.

This is what they're going on.

And check out the surprise inside! Oh! It's a D16Z6! How'd that get in there?

$160 each plus shipping. Lugs and such were about $45 total. So, my final bill for the set was about $750. On Friday I'll go buy some beefy tires and I'll be set. I'm also toying with the idea of getting a JDM Subaru turbo motor pushing about 220hp stock. Mmm....tasty. It'll fit right it with not too much trouble.

guys like the flat four scooby motor, not too much work to make it fit as well. I'm currently working on a BIG built 2.0 type 4 motor with Jenvey ITB's. My bud did his split bus with a 2.0 16 turbo golf motor.........380bhp at the wheels......

The price isn't that bad, even though from the uk they cost about £300 with tyres..............I need to make a plan to get a set.

The rims are on and they look oh, so sexy. :)

Check out the two rear wings. I need them to control the crazy speeds that 67hp can take me to.

Yeah, me either. I'm just glad I wasn't driving at the time.

Man, I love these rims. Between those and the front/rear sway bars it does 90mph even smoother than my Civic. Of course, moving that fast involves flooring it down a hill.

Damnit....the day after I took those pictures some smacktard ripped the black 7" VW logo from the front of the bus. That's the second time over the past 12 months or so. I was ordering a new carpet kit, h4 headlight conversion and new lens all the way around so I'll just pick up another logo as well. :)

Time to throw a boxster engine in that bad boy
Hehe...kinda like this bus with a Porche 933 bi-turbo motor at 520hp. It's the black 62 bus in the vid. These things are just amazing! Anyone who's driven a stock bus knows how scary as f**k this must be.

This track is a few miles from my house. This bus is almost as fast as my civic.

Oh god no! But, but why?! I'd love a 67 crew cab if I could ever get my hands on one. I'd love to have a Unimog as well, but the chances of that are even smaller.
