Hello, could someone tell me whats that and where it belongs? General it seems theres a lot of gaskets and stuff double in the mizumo set for the D16A6.
And why are there 2 intake manifold gaskets?
Very confused,

thx for reading and helping!

The ring is an exhaust gasket. Not sure why the kit has 2 IM gaskets. Are they exactly alike?

Generic kit. Basically build 1 set fits all similar engine series. Even though the two intake gaskets look similar, I bet they are just slightly different to each other, which means you need to take the time to see which gasket works with your head/intake manifold.

As bumpstick said, the ring is for some kind of exhaust seal, its a crush ring that fits in a groove somewhere in the exhaust system. Typically two piece exhaust manifolds, that separate manifold from downpipe, will have such a crush gasket used to seal the connecting flange. Ive also seen them used in other kinds of exhaust flanges, like the joining flange between pipe and catalytic converter. Your engine/car may or may not use it.

Parts suppliers do this, because it ends up cheaper and easier to manage the inventory. Instead of having 9 different head set boxes for 9 different engines that all have the same parts except 2 engine variants in that family used slightly different gasket shapes for the intake manifold, they just give you everything in one box, label it to suggest it works on 9 engines, and include all gasket possibilities in a single box and make the end user choose the correct gasket to install in their application.
