ok i just finished a minime swap (d16y7 block and a d16y8 head). the intake and exhaust valves were ported with a d16y8 IM ported to match. i have a free flow exhaust with 2.75 inch piping and free flow catalytic converter. all of the internals of the engine and head are stock exept i have an aem adjustable cam gear. i have a stock vtec cpu.

i have a t3 turbo with bov, charge pipes, big frontmount intercooler and i want this on asap... what else do i need to run this without changeing any of the internals and what psi should i run? any sugestions will be greatly apprectiated, what would you do?

(oh btw just for anyone who has seen my car on here before... i just did a sort of jdm conversion ... took off all the rice and as far as anone can tell its a full fledged jdm ferio  of course to non import boys this looks stock except for rims  ) zzzzzz sleeper

no i dont have anything to controll the fuelmanagment... what do you suggest? i have a feeling this project will run well into the next few months so i have the time to find what i need... what would be the easiest to tune?

i guess ill run between 5 and 8 psi? how do u set the boost? doesnt that have somthing to do with the wastegate?

you need a boost controller ( to tune psi ) and a APEX'i A/F controller the Super AFC i think its called .. that will help with fuel / air mixture so u can properly tune the motor for turbo .. your gonna need a turbo manifold, new oil lines , and a " big " FMIC isnt always the best .. smaller intercoolers work better for turbo honda motors ... you want a big FMIC if you have a 900+hp supra :) and yes the timing is adj. through the cam gear ... also ur gonna need some dyno time ... 6 -7.5psi should be good on stock internals .. but with the right fuel management ( i.e bigger injectors , new fuel pump , fuel pressure reg. ) you can probally be boosted to 10psi with stock internals ... what i wanna know is why everyone wants to boost a y7 motor with stock internals ?? wouldnt you want to reinforce the block ?? before adding all that extra pressure and stress on the block ?? well to each is his own .. so ..

i just dont have the knowhow to do all the engine internals stuff... i do have the oilline and the manifold alrready and the intercooler is really long but not very tall... i guess its ok?? so i dont need a wastegate?? how exactly does the psi controler work and where does it install? is it electronic?

The wastage should be on the turbo, if it isn't you need one to control the boost.

The electronic boost controller hooks up to the waste gate through the vacuum lines. Real easy to hook up if the directions are good.

With stock internals I wouldn't go over 6 or 7 lbs of boost, and even that is risky!

Good Luck!

YOU NEED HONDATA

Same thing as a regular d16y8. I wouldnt run over stock boost with stock fuel management. Get the Apexi VAFC, RC 440cc injectors, or Hondata and then you will have yourself some nice boost.
