This is a simply problem and a simple solution.


Treat it like a d16z6 head being stuck onto a d15b7 BLOCK. This will give you FAR more search results, and give you better information.

The d16y7 head is basically jsut a d16z6 head with no vtec, as far as fitment goes. But the camgear timing and camshaft positon is pretty much d16y8, so you will have to figure out the slight timing difference, or just swap to the d15's camshaft gear to keep the timing happy.

Then you will need to figure out what timing belt you need. 103 teeth, 104 teeth, 112 teeth, etc... If you find a tooth count, but not sure which engine fits, use rockauto, and some of the timing belt brands list tooth count. Options likely will be 1992 civic vx d15z1, 1992 civic si d16z6, or the stock belt from the 1996 civic dx/lx d16y7
