Howdy name is Rowdy i have owned prolly 8 hondas in my time

91 accord f22 coupe manual
92-95 4 door civics d15 2 manual(vtec) 1 auto(non-vtec)
93 d16dz civic sedan auto (vtec)
95 civic coupe d15(non-vtec) manual
2014 honda accord 2.4 auto-cvt (totaled on shurkill expressway)
2012 honda civic 1.8 present car 141k

96 civic lx (present project) 131k body d15b2 1989 crx block 96 d16y7 head non vtec (Mini-me)

Car overheated n slipped timing belt at idle in reverse. Replaced the timing belt and i started it up, sounded great no tapping at all... but it started to build pressure on startup. did a pressure test w coolant pressure tester and the head gasket was blown apparently. i have pulled the head. There was a blue metal gasket on it.

Basically im here to research specs on this franken build because i know little about Mini-me except specific research for parts to start n move car. I only stock reconditioned D15's mostly so i will be doing a bunch of reading. Most research specs are from patprimer sticky on mini-me parts. My head gasket kit contained 120mm head bolts the ones i pulled off the car are 138mm if i'm measuring them right. rock auto lists 140mm ??

All my surfaces are prepped just wanna make sure i'm purchasing the correct head bolts. i used the search button most of the day today but there are not many cars w my exact setup or i'm just not searching the key specs. thx i advance. for any input one bolt is 120mm upper left rest are either 140 or 138 not sure which.
MAHLE Original GS33750 10x1.25x140mm im afraid these will bottom out. the 138mm on rock auto have extra spiraling above the treads i assume to prevent warping or for strength not sure.

d15b2 block d16y7 head what what size head bolts do i use 138mm 140mm i know the one is shorter on the upper left 120mm the crx block lists 2 sizes 140mm and 138mm with the extra spirals above the threads. Which one is ok to use basically the ones on the right measure 138 from bottom of the cap. Will the MAHLE Original GS33750 10x1.25x140mm bottom out inside the block and cause the head gasket to not be sealed?
non-mls gasket from a d16y2 kit

sorry misstyped d16y7 not b7

so i miss-typed its a 89 d15b2 block out of a crx d16y7 head looks like that was in the 96-97 civic non vtec

the d16y2 (96-2000 civic) head gasket (idk just the one that came with the evergreen kit) is pretty thick compared to the blue mls i took out. im guessing the spiraled ones will be ok...$19.95 not going cheap just want the right fit options are 138 cheap ones or 140 mm $46.00 still cheap really i have no idea how much the head was shaved if it even was by previous owner. i originally thought the bolt broke off in the block but more research showed the 120 mm goes in the top left with this setup. all the bolts that came with that d16 kit are 120mm the long ones in my pic are 138mm bottom of cap to tip. i guess doing simple measurements with a screwdriver and simple addition may give me the answer haha. maybe this is a dumb inquiry.

2mm is not gonna matter i guess

you use 9 a6/b2/b7/z6 headbolts/studs and 1 y series bolt/stud for that, use your stock dizzy will work. find a chipped pm6 or chippable pm6 and tune with turboedit (acidbeaver has a full write up on how to) and be rolling obd0 and have vtec still.

D15b2 with y8 head (again) that gave me the answer

ok D15b2(block) d15 headbolts fit the d16 head it looks like and its actually one shorter d16y7 headbolt in upper left theres still 2 options 138mm and 140mm but i guess the 2mm is not a deal breaker. thx for the link
