megan racing headers

u need an undercar cat from a 96-00 EX civic and the catback exhaust to match it...i think so anyways

i'm pretty sure if you remove the down pipe after the y7 cat, the y8 header and cat will bolt directly. you'll also have to extend some o2 sensor wires to reach their new spots. more than likely just the secondary o2.

I agree with him ...secondary o2 wire will need extending...FTW!!

i knew that i would have to extend the lower o2 sensor wire because of the placement of it on the ex compared to the lx. though the stock lx exhaust would bolt up no problem and i could upgrade to the ex exhaust later on. guess not. anyone in the raleigh, nc area got some stock or aftermarket ex exhaust for cheap?? also i am gonna need the cat unless someone has a test pipe and a mil too??

since it looks like i will be upgrading to new exhaust sooner than i thought does any one got any recommendations for what to get. atm i only have $200 which i know is not a lot for catback exhaust. but i would like to try and keep the price below $400 and still get a good ss system. any thoughts??

might help if you knew what i already had and what i planned on doing.

currently have a pretty much stock d16y7 with an auto tranny. i have the mr 4-2-1 headers and an aftermarket coil. i plan on swapping in a 5spd, the y8 head and im. when the head and im go on i will also add a cai and cam. that will pretty much be the extent of my modding to this car.

with that in mind what suggestions do you guys have for exhaust systems.

ebay is probably the only place you'll find a stainless catback for less than $400. try to find a 2 1/4 inch setup. and also, if you're on a budget, a lot of us have been using the ebay headers and they have been working well for us. if you want to run a test pipe, get one of these. www.o2simulator.com they work well also and you do have to keep your check engine light off for inspection in north carolina.

well i just got the car inspected for this year so i am good on that. also i already got headers, they are the megan racing ones, girlfriend bought them for me for christmas. when i went to install them yestarday i noticed that my stock exhaust manifold was cracked from the o2 bung around towards the back. the crack is about 3 inchs long. also my stock exhaust manifold has a stripped out bolt where the downpipe mounts up. so reinstalling that is pretty much out of the question.

i need to get the exhaust system finished up by next monday as i have to go back to class.

i was looking last night at some exhaust systems that i could get. i looked at the megan cat-back, the tannabe system, and magnaflow. are any of these brands better than the rest?? any brands better than those?? also i want to stay away from the ricer sounding exhaust, would like for it to be sorta deep and mellow sounding

magnaflow and tanabe are nice. megan is supposed to be alright as well.

im running a megan exhaust.. wont buy another one. they dont include 3/4's of the stuff you need to mount it up and finding the right shit is kind of hard... i STILL havent found a fucking donut gasket that fits and megan wont help me at all...:TD: :TD: to megan racing for shitty customer service

next exhaust will either be custom or name brand, apex, hks, etc

i was looking at megan exhaust. good price for the system. i like the header i got so far. what size is the stock ex exhaust piping?? what size is the inlet on the stock ex cat?? will it bolt up to the header with no problem??

also has anyone every heard of a junkyard not being able to sell a car's exhaust?? all i need is the intermediate pipe right now. i can grab a cat for cheap from some auto parts store. or just put in a test pipe.

it np, i understand, i will try and get my 65 posts by tonight but would it be possible for you to just tell me if anyone is selling any exhaust. you don't have to tell me who or how much, i just want to make sure some is available before i go and try and get 65 posts just to find out there isn't any for sale. cause if there is none for sale i need to be looking around locally for something or atleast trying to find some exhaust somewhere close by to use as a temp solution

i dont think there are any that i know of offhand.. and having 65 posts in one night.. is basically whoring to get into the for sale area.. which is frowned upon and also can cause you to be banned
