Over the winter I did a complete motor swap d16y7 to y8 I used a auto wiring harness with the p2p ecu the motor will go to red line in 1-3 but 4th and 5 th seem to lose power feels like it’s being governed by the ecu it gets to about 4grand and it just falls on its face is it the ecu and if so can I unplug a wire or do I need a new ecu

It’s not throwing any codes it doesn’t hit a limiter it’s just low on power almost like the ecu is governing the motor it’s a 98dx Motor is from a 97ex the head is from a 99ek The harness is from a 99ex and the ecu is p2p

There is your problem.

You are running a 96-98 OBD2a chassis with a OBD2b 99-00 harness.

Have you swapped the dash harness?

And P2P simply says what model (civic EX) it is from.

The part number on the bar code, the digits before and after P2P, will indicate if it is for the 96-98 models, or the 99-00 models.

Find and post that ecu part number. Or take a picture and post it.

Then if the ecu is from the 96-98 cars, all you need at this point is a 96-98 ex harness.
