Okay I just need some help to see If I have this done right to insure I choose the proper bearing for the application. I will just show you my measurements from Main Journal 1 only so I don't have to write a story

Tolerances
spec 2.1644" - 2.1654" (54.976 - 55.001mm)
Max Out of round 0.0002inch max

Main journal 1
measurement - 2.1643" (measured in 4 points approx 45 degrees apart from each other)

Main bore 1
spec 2.3228- 2.3237"(58.999-59.022mm)
measurement 2.3243" .001 out of spec should be okay right? *measured in 4 spots again 45 degrees apart*


Main bearing Oil clearance
Journal 1 and 5 0.0007 - 0.0014inch
0.002 max service limit

Journal 2,3 and 4 0.0009 to 0.0017inch
max service limit 0.002inch

So this is for a 75mm vitara setup custom I beams ported and shimmed oilpump etc.

Im at the stage to make sure that I will choose the proper main bearing size but I would like some reassurance from the guru's that I am doing everything right.

So instead of using a plastigauge I mic'd the First main journal then used a telescoping gauge for the main journal bore

Main Journal
2.1643"

Main bore
2.3243"

now to find the oil clearance for main 1
I used this calculation please correct me If this is wrong..

main Bore 1 (2.3243") / Main Journal 1 ( 2.1643") = 0.1601

then

0.1601 MINUS target clearance ( 0.0007 - 0.0014) my target clearance for this build is 0.0014"
therefore ..

0.1601 - 0.0014
= 0.1587

then ... 0.1587 / 2

= 0.0793"

according to laskeys diagram
Main Bearing thickness by color
Blue 2.013-2.010 mm 0.0793”- 0.0791”
Black 2.010-2.007 mm 0.0791”- 0.0790”
Brown 2.007-2.004 mm 0.0790”- 0.0789”
Green 2.004-2.001 mm 0.0789”- 0.0788”
Yellow 2.001-1.998 mm 0.0788”- 0.0787”
Pink 1.998-1.995 mm 0.0787”- 0.0785”
Red 1.995-1.992 mm 0.0785”- 0.0783”

In order to achieve the clearance I want for the Main bearing 1 I will need a Blue color Bearing? 0.0793”- 0.0791”

this is my first build .. please correct me if Im wrong , I searched the forum found the sticky about doing your mains and rod journals, but some of my crank journal diameters were at most .001 out of spec is that okay? the out of roundess with some of the Journals was nothing more then .0001 out of round. honda spec say no more then .0002, but also just wondering if being under spec by .001 is horrible?
anyways thanks for reading my story I just need a little help so I can finish this !

I already looked at that , I am just asking if my calculations are correct
