I will have to go find and inspect it, but I do have what I believe was a 1993 or 1994 hatch DX trans with unopened case, and 100-140k miles. At time I bought it, it had zero play, and casing was in perfect condition.

It has been 4-6 years since I have actually taken it out and looked at it.

If that is potentially on the table, feel free to message me. Im moving soon, so it will soon be uncovered and checked out anyways. I have no use for it.

If it ends up working fine for a base/foundation for your trans build, Id just build a small wooden crate for it and send it via grounds shipper of your choice.

S40 would be about $500 rebuilt, With close ratio gears closer to $1500.
