So I'm using a fresh d15b vt head.
Which head gasket? Y8, d16a6.
I have a fresh set of y8 bolts will they work? With the d15? Also have a set of d15b7 bolts. And d15b bolts,

y8 head gasket
d15b head is the jdm version of the z6, so
a6/z6 head bolts are the proper length. the y8 will be shorter
z6 140mm y8 120.5mm

I read somewhere to use the head bolts for the head youre using, but I don't want to tell you false info since the d15 deck is lower......

also, youre not suppose
to reuse head bolts.....but Im not the boss

Yeah I know, and yes sir the d15b bosses do look low. And I cleaned the block threads that now I can run the bolts down by hand.
So with all the head bolts I have there's a combo that'll work 😉 🤞

Be careful when installing the oil pump. The oring that seals the pump to block passage is really easy to have knock out of the little stakes that hold it in place. Also make sure the front crank seal lip doesn't roll over when you install it.

Make sure the silicone that seals the pump housing to the block doesn't touch the oring faces when you go to install. The oring groove needs to be clean and dry, and block needs to be clean and dry, with a clean and dry oring.

When mating the pump to the block, keep an eye on the oring with a flashlight, make sure silicone doesn't touch the oring when initially mating, and that it stays in the groove. Take it apart and clean everything if silicone does touch, and retry. Its OK for silicone to touch the edges of the oring when you bolt the pump down and it squeezes out when torquing, but that initial point of contact needs to be straight rubber oring to aluminum, no silicone!

I've seen oil leaks from silicone on top of the oring, basically creating a double gasket where it doesn't need to be.

Have a couple of questions:

Whats the p# for the pcv breather box
O ring?

Which intake manifold should be used and why?
Choices are d15b, d16y8.
Thanks 😊
