Product: J's Racing Tsuchinoko intake System
Engine: d16y7/y8 mini mi
other modification: spoon N1, d16y8 tranny
J's Racing is one of the most famous auto part brand (so call the JDM baller brand) out there in Japan. Their intake system is well known due to the design (so call the whale penis, lol).
Pro:
- I recently got one of those intake onto my engine and I notice a HUGE different compared to the stock intake air box from a stock d16y8. the throttle response is SO MUCH BETTER and the lower end torque is way better compared to stock. I can feel there's improvment from start to redline (7200 rpm). Low rpm pick up is better as well and i can even accelrate in 4th gear at 2500 rpm (well, not saying i can't before but there's a noticeable difference).
- I can hear the crossover when it hit vtec
- freaking loud (well this could also be a con)
- baller factor, the whole intake is made out of CF and there's a huge J's Racing sticker on it, lol
Con:
- the cost (retail for 350 CAD or more)
- not going to fit every engine (it's not going to fit onto a d16y7 engine and maybe the d15b, not sure about the b18c1, but fit all other B series engine and d16y8/d16z6)
- freaking loud
- ment for engine w/ vtec
Pic will come soon when the weather gets better and after i wash my engine bay.
here's a pic of the intake from AJ-Racing website
