CVT Gearbox Auto EK to Manual Help Thread

JDM D15B Three Stage 1996 Preface CVT Auto OBD2A

Question for the hardcore auto to manual who have done a CVT to Manual swap.

What is needed to fully swap an CVT auto to manual.. (D15B Three Stage OBD2A)

1. I am fully aware I have to make my own bracket to mount the gearbox mount

2. Can I use the original auto loom the car came with from factory in the manual swap?

3. Can I plug a P2J-003 Manual ECU OBD2A on the auto loom OBD2A?

So far I have:

Manual OBD2A Vtec Loom or Auto Loom
Manual Pedals
Engine Mounts
Gearbox Mounts
Gearbox S40
Flywheel
Clutch Kit
Clutch master cylinder
Clutch slave cylinder
Clutch lines
Gearbox linkage
Shifter
P28 Socketed Ecu if needed

Is there Anything else I need or I don’t know when it comes to this CVT Auto to manual swap.

I’ve been told this CVT swap is more difficult due to the threestage vtec being compatible with one Ecu.

not sure what bracket mount you need to make? ..there should be a bolt in option.

it should be straight forward to swap the obd2a harness if your car is obd2a.
but to use the p28 you will need an obd2a to obd1 adapter ..

ive been told that I need a specific OBD2A JDM Ecu that is P2J to run the specific three stage and nothing else will run the three stage.

I’ve also been told the CVT JDM Auto mounts are different and need to be welded into place

thought you had to use the p28?

you will need to do some fiddling with wires and an extra relay output from ecu for 3rd vtec and custom mapping using primary and secondary tables.
will need tuning and fiddles

been told I have to use the original manual d15b Ecu as it’s an OBD2a chassis ek.. also d15b threestage.. so the manual ek vtec loom isn’t made for the three stage solinoid.. so keep the auto?
A lot of confused.. might sell it

It’s proven difficult to find a P2J-003 JDM ECU
il keep an eye out for one, i currently have one myself for the same swap. instead of the whole loom you just need to change one of the sensors from a 3 wire to a 2 wire and swap (or pull) an ecu wire
