Is using the P28 ecu and chipping it with p08 maps the best way to run a jdm d15b on my 2000 civic ex w/ vtec?
& without it giving me any problems in the near future??
If so , how can I exactly can I chip it ? or can I continue to use my stock P2p-a12??
Please & thank you

haha .

so yeah... are you saying this is a jdm d15b vtec engine or your car came with vtec?

either way if you are going to use the p28 you will at the very least need an obd2-obd1 adapter harness .

which jdm d15b?
most states frown upon using obd1 ecus in an obd2 chassis.

To run an engine optimally it should be tuned. That being said you can get away with a LOT of shit with honda ECUs and engines. I am currently running a b18a1 ([email protected]) on a PO6 ECU (d15b7 [email protected]).

This is CLEARLY not the right ecu/engine combo, but it runs fine, doesnt throw any codes, and unless you knew what was going on you would think it came from the factory that way.

So I imagine your d15b vtec woould like run just fine on a d16y8 ecu as long as you had all the sensors and wiring correct.
