Hi own a 96-00 JDM D15b 3 stage vtec (VTI) Civic. Unfortunately it has an automatic tranny. I am in the process of converting it to manual. I was told that i need to change the ECU to complete this conversion. I was also told that the ECU from the 92-95 either P08 or P28 could be used. After doing some research i found out that the P08 or P28 ECU is OBD1 and the 96-00 civic uses a OBD2 ECU. I am back to square one not knowing what to do here. Can someone please tell me what can be done. Can the OBD1 ECU (P08 or P28) work with my 96-00 civic without any problems.

Peace out,
Flourgan

you're in the bad position of needing to stay with the d15b 3-stage ecu... if you can find one for a manual, that would be perfect.

BUT, if you want to try obd1 ecus, you need to find something else that will control one of the vtec solenoids on your head (you have 2 of them). That's the tough part about using the 3-stage head.
