Hey guys,

Name is Jake Kaminskis, live in Wisconsin, and new to the forum. However not new to the Honda world. I have been working on Hondas since 2006 and have been racing them for equally as long.

A competition license holder with NASA Midwest, as well as a certified NASA instructor. Part time I instruct with Xtreme Xperience and have been able to drive some absolutely fantastic cars that I know that I will never be able to afford.

I also crewed for Team LoveFab both years for Pikes Peak Hill Climb "Race to the Clouds". In 2012 we managed to fix the car the night before qualifying after Cody wrecked it at "Engineers Corner". From there we managed to place 2nd in Unlimited. (I'll do a write-up on it later.)

I currently own a 1999 Honda Civic Si that is being prepped for Honda Challenge H2. Freshly build JDM B18C Type R motor with a 4.7 ITR trans. Took it out for testing this year since the roll cage didn't get finished in time. Took 2nd Place in Track Mod at the last Gridlife Time Attack event.

My 2004 Mazda RX8 (Photo taken by my good friend),

a $300 EJ1 RhinoLined sh*t box,

as well as a super clean 1995 EJ1 I am building as a 24hr of LeMons car.

It's a security measure, add where it counts and in no time...we can see you're legion of doom. Sounds like a fun group.

Yeah, just not used to having to make up the post counts. Reminds me of the old days when I joined Honda-Tech over a decade ago. Except now it seems I have taken a step in the wrong direction buying all these D series powered cars! LOL!

Here is our Team No Lives 24hr of LeMons car. Traded an EJ8 driver side door for it that I bought for $50! Cleanest EJ1 I have seen for sale in a long time, only two spots of minor rust on the car.

Picked it up about 30 minutes south of Michigan, however the car is from Louisiana!

The team and I started work soon as I unloaded it from my trailer.

My old Honda Challenge H2 EM1. Sold it and started a new build since the roll cage needed to be redone, car had been an SCCA Showroom Stock C car ever since it came off the showroom floor in 99.

My new Honda Challenge H2 EM1, built a brand new B18C out of a 20,000km short block. All new parts except the crank and rods because they were still perfect! Koni 3011 2-Way shocks, Eibach Springs, Wicked Spherical Bearings all around, AiM EVO 4 Datalogger and so much more! Not finished yet, but should be over this winter!

The 2nd year helping out Team Love Fab at PPIHC, the Lovefab "Enviate" the car I spent literally 2 weeks of 20 hour days helping finish before hitting the road to Colorado Springs!

After all that hard work, it crashed on it's first test run up on the mountain. Video is on YouTube can't post the link apparently but I can post pictures. Type in Pikes Peak Crash in YouTube and it's the 3 or 4 vid from the top.

It has been super fun, I have met some awesome people and have experienced a ton over the last 5 years! It's a tough road however since this is really my only hobby. I don't get out much because I am always saving for the next race or event!

Work full time in the Wisconsin Dept. of Corrections and it's rough. But it pays the bills and more importantly, it gives me the ability to race!

Definitely not the life you want to live if you ever expect to have kids, a nice house, or really anything that most people usually buy. I live as cheap as possible to make it happen!

Yeah it's a struggle! I am going to have to take a step back for next year and dial it down just a bit. I have wedding to afford as well as a new Honda Challenge car to finish up. We got it up and running and out for some testing. It's QUICK! However there is about another $10,000+ to go before it'll be truly finished.

If you ever decide to make the jump to racing wheel-to-wheel. Take my advice and just spend the money on a sorted car..... I'm already $15,000 into this car! *FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS*

Oh man... I can't tell you how much I'd love to run wheel to wheel. There are some... how do I say it... "unsanctioned" events up here on some longer "tracks" that involve multiple cars at a time in a sort of test and tune type action, but nothing legit.

I'm actually surprised you're doing what you're doing, considering your location. Is there a big mid-west scene? Honestly, I've only been to Racine once, a few years back on a small band tour... and man was it a little freaky! I'm not sure we were in the best part of town though.

Yeah the racing out here is pretty large, not as large as the guys down south or out in California with they're year round racing. But for about 7 months out of the 12, there is always something going on!

Looks like I've chosen the wrong place to live! That's awesome! I might have some questions for you in the future Jake, but at this point, I'm going to try and get some sleep, and the admins are not stoked on my constant posting, and I'd rather not get ousted from a forum I will probably need! I'm sure we'll chat later. Good to meet you dude.
