is it possible to run 12.9 quarter mile in a eg hatch all motor. and before you say yes it is, here are a few of the things i want to keep

full interior
street legal
pump gas

i know there is a sticky with the info but i didnt want to read through the 26pages so i thought i would just ask if anyone has done this, or how close did you come.

do u have amoney limit
this will be over time, so not really. just piecing it together. have a nice z6 that bambooseven built. still wondering if someone has done this and if so, what they had to use to do it.

id say no being as you want full interior, pump gas, and street legal
maybe gutted on race gas with a shitload of mods and money, not to mention slicks
ya theres no way u can do it without slicks
i would run slicks. when i say street legal, i mean passing "inspection" (wink, wink). i know a mechanic. so if 12.9 is not possible, tell me what you think is possible.

ryan
with unlimitied knowledge and unlimited cash and keeping that motor and running slicks id say low 14s
bigtuna runs mid 13s on a full drag car... i dont pay much attention to what people do with an na sohc d just because imo its alot of money spent for not alot of results

you sound like my tuner. you are correct about the return on money spent. i think 13's are within reach on a street car. i guess we will see when it all gets put together.

ryan
make sure u let us no what it runs when ur done
will do. the motor will go in this summer. i am guessing mid 14's with what i have now. so i will keep you posted.

ryan
are the mods what you have in your sig? if so thats not going to get you mid 14s.. from the sounds of it you still have the stock motor?
it can be done, but probably not on your budget.
this is the motor i have in my car now. the motor thats going in it is as follows.

zc block
p29 pistons
z6 head ported
skunk2 cam
edelbrock intake manifold
68mm tb
hondata heatshield gasket
stillen header
2.25" exhaust

this is what i have as of now. will continue to buy parts up until the motor goes in the car this summer.

doesnt sound like a bad build but arent the skunk cams just stage 1's? if so youll be lucky to get out of the 15s or at the very most hig 14s
if you look at the cam specs, it is actually like a stage 2. i havent seen anyone run one on this forum so i am excited to see the gains i get from the cam.

the motor without the cam should be in the 14's. it dynoed at 146whp and 111ft-lbs of torque. it is essentially the same as doing a b16 swap, so i should see similar results. b16 swapped hatches seem to run mid to low 14's.

ryan
maybe with a b-series...
i would like to achieve these results without going b-series. everyone goes b-series. plus, people automatically think your shit is fast, or think you think your shit is fast since you have a b-series.

ryan
b-series are for woman
