Hey guys can someone help me out? My 90 Si engine light is on and the ECU is blinking a "code 10"...ITS has a problem....'my' problem...I can't figure out where the freakin' thing is!! Can someone maybe take a picture of this thing in their engine bay and point it out to me? That way I can fix the problem...

Also...would the ITS cause the engine to idle "oddly"...for example...sitting at rest the engine revs a little then slows down, then revs a little and slows down...usually between 1000-2000 rpm??? Would the ITS cause this or something else?

Thanks for any help...

Jason

the intake temperature sensor is located on the right side of your intake manifold on the runner going to your #1 cylinder
Clarification - on the right side as you look into the engine compartment from the front or the car (driver's side for US spec cars).

It is attached with two Philips head screws which are easy to strip if the sensor has never been removed in 14 years like mine.

You can grab the outsides of the screw with a pair of needlenose Visegrips if you strip the screw and that should break them loose.

Also...what does it mean when the inside of the oil "cap" is milky white?? Someone told me today but I can't remember...
Jason
oh man....NOT GOOD.

The milky white is what happens when OIL is mixed with WATER & ANTIFREEZE. In other words, you're leaking water into your engine, probably head gasket needs replacing.

lol your funny
in the raidiator like (world best radiator and block sealer) at your local auto partrs store for under 5 bucks. ive done this to maney cars with minor cracks in heads and head gaskets and there still on the road today.
your head gasket usualy goes because it over heats, it does this because the fluid has probably broke down and not able to disipate heat properly causing it to overheat. good luck

Can you sorta give me a step by step?

Jason

PS>

I'm likely gonna change the engine...as soon as I'm clear what engine will fit in my car, easiest bolt in, and the cheapest to find...god I'm getting confused on that whole issue.
