need just an quick answer

good idea to make an intake mani out of mild steel?

i have the fear it beginns to rust and kill my engine after a while:confused:

I would go for aluminium. Its lighter, and dissipates the heat better which will give you lower intake temps compared to M.S. Any machine shop will be able to make you an aluminium flange, might be a little pricey though. Either that or find someone who has some readily available.

Just take a B7 or Y7 manifold and cut it. Then you have a flange with a little grinding.

If this is for ITB's find a DPFI manifold since the flange doesn't have the fuel injector ports right at the flange. Then again if you want the injectors right by the flange find a B7/Y7 etc. mani or something.

DPFI manifold dosent' have the nipple for the coolant line off the head. You would have to add a nipple or plug it so it will work.

the problem for me is in my area is no one which could weld aluminium runners :-(

steel i can weld self

the weight thing dindt scare me
but the heat :-(

hmmm i hate such problems

btw
an hondata gasket could solve the problem?

I doubt a thermal gasket like the HonData one would help that much.

you could ceramic coat the steel but by the time you do that your lookin at a little chunk of change
