Dont mix and match d16 and d17 head and block. You give up oil pressure and flow. Its dumb.
Bascially what happened, is due to no oil draining happening at a proper rate, you pooled up all the oil in the head, running the oil pump dry, and cutting pressure everywhere.
I bet the turbo is hurt badly as well.
