Not a d, but hope someone has experienced this before.

I have 11:1 built gsr turbo. Turbo is a 7 blade hx35. Has a 3" downpipe into a 2.5 full exhaust with an electric cutout. I was out tuning last night and breaking her in on 4psi wg spring. Car pulled hard to 8500 rpms through the full exhaust. A/f is 10.8-11.2. We opened up the cut out and around 7800 it started breaking up, and got worse with higher gears. A/f was around 11.8-12.2 with no tune adjustments from being closed. We closed the cut out and no more break up issues all the way to 8700. Surely it's not blowing out spark at 4psi. Plugs are ngk 8 and gapped to .028.

I'm just confused how at the same boost level when the exhaust flows way better it breaks up.

No takers? If it helps, same dizzy and plugs on a 12:1 turbo on 10psi with no issues, but again, through the same full exhaust
