So its finally getting warm enough to hit the track. last year i went for the first time and ran 3 runs with a best of 16.7, did that with a full interior and spare tire

This year im hoping to get into the 15s. But i dont want to do any internal motor modifications that could hurt reliability. Its my only car right now.
I want to keep it simple, and work with the other components since i plan on boosting, one day the motor will get its chance.

-ex trans
-skunk2 intake manifold
-lose the interior and spare
-E.S. lca bushings
-E.S. a-arm bushings
-traction bar ( anyone know of a good company thats cheap? )

if budget allows ill pickup a cheapy fiberglass hood and fenders but thats extra

i could also use some pointers on pre-loading and tire pressure

what do yall 1320gurus have to say

thanks DSO

If you use forged internal it won´t hurt reliability, get your ecu tuned.

Traction bars are not cheap, look for one used.

get some slicks 20x6x14, they will improve your traction and mph.

what about adding a dry 50 shot ???

What engine do you have......if I had to guess with that time im thinking y7?

If so 15's is easier then you think.....first off I/H/E and a stripped down interior with a set of 15" wheels and good tires alone should get you into the 15's.

Traction bar is useless if your not making 200+whp IMOP so is the Junk2 IM. You'll pull more TQ down low and maintain better whp in the areas you need it most with just a Y8. Spend the money in other places if you plan on staying N/A for now.

Get a CAI, it will help your rpm band. But like T-MacK said, its all in the launch. Sk2 manifold is overrated on a single cam unless you're making big power.

I want to stay away from messing with the motor internally for right now. i have a Z6 block that im going to boost with the tried and true D17 rotating assembly and a T3. Im going for 200whp/160tq enough to hit 13s maybe 12s and still be a quick spooling street car. I would like to get it tuned with a obd1 ecu just to get that part out of the way.

I have the Y7 completely stock besides a Dcsport header, Y8 intake manifold, MSD blaster coil, cap and wires. i also have a set of lightweight wedsport knock-offs.
I was thinking about getting a set of BFG KDW2s for the front since i need new tires.

I do have alittle bit of N/A plans, nothing major. Just a delta regrind and tune with the skunk2 should be a nice upgrade. which should hold my urge for more until i get around to boosting and will aid in making more power from the little t3 ill be using. which is a .42/.48

Learn how to do nitrous the "right way" and keep the shot small and youll go faster without having to lose your interior

no nitrous. i found a ex trans locally so im going to try and pick that up for 100$
Im looking to add parts that will make me faster but not waste money since im boosting in the future. Why tune for nitrous when im going to be boosting in a year or two.

plus you have to constantly refill nitrous bottles.

Ok, want to go fast UNTIL you boost, don't want to spend much money which if you try to do ANYTHING N/A it will most likely cost a ton...

HMMMMMMMMMMM.....

Nitrous or GTFO.

Why are you making it so hard? Nitrous is THE easiest way to hit low 15s.
it might be but its not for me thanks though

well if you read the post where i said keep it simple. By N/A i mean adding a skunk2 intake manifold, delta regrind, swap to a obd1 ecu and tune . all of those will benefit me when i go boost so you GTFO :gayfight2:

put it this way. If i were to add nitrous when i do boost it i have to take that stuff off and sell it...i dont want to do that, its just a waste of time and money. If i do some supporting mods like a ex trans, and my small n/a plans then when i boost it would be that much easier to hit my 13s goal.. Ya feel me?

No, because putting a N/A cam in a head that's going to see boost would be a waste of money. Anything you do to the car now for N/A will be a waste of money for boost besides the EX trans.

who said a delta 272 was a N/A cam, plenty of people have used it with a turbo and saw great results for 100 bucks.

Why no nitrous?

Because it makes your engine blow up, right?
nah it might blow the welds on the intake

even though it would be easy to replace the piston rings id fry

but the reason no nitrous is because i want to boost later down the road. it just doesnt seem worth it. Its too short-term.
adding a couple things like a slightly reground cam and a better flowing intake manifold will help me while n/a and while im boosted, so to me that seems like a better route than nitrous. What will nitrous do for me when i boost? nothing

you guys are thinking now im thinking tomorrow.

Sounds like you dont wanna hit 15s then. Not being a dick but your just giving excuses as to why you dont wanna do this or do that. Seriously a 50 shot isnt going to blow your motor up, even a stock one. I dont understand why people think nitrous is a black magic.
