hey yall im going to be sending a cam out to delta to get the 272 or the 272-2 grind not sure what one yet but i was thinking about putting a cam gear on.. my first question would be is it worth it and my second question would be how do i know how much i should retard the timing?

sorry for all the questions yall im trying to learn

i plan on throwing in a tunable ecu and i also plan on going to the track...often. but it wont hurt to have it wrong?

Every motor is different. Just throw it in zero'd out with your stock gear for now. You can play with cam timing next season when the track opens back up.

Alot of people don't realize that a cam gear is used to help degree their new cam. There is a lot of threads about degreeing a cam. I personally degree any cam I put in an engine because they will be off a couple degrees most of the time. It makes sure you are at peak performance.
