I'm taking apart a D15 head that overheated so I can get it cleaned and milled, but I can't get the rocker assemblies to come loose. The engine and head have 147K on them, so they're probably just fused. But how to get them loose?

Thanks.

rubber mallet on each end, thats how i get them off. A few light taps and it should become loose, or just let the machine shop do it

I still haven't been able to get this off. Anyone have suggestions? I really hate the idea of paying the machine shop to remove it.

ANYONE?

Thanks.

Yes, and it didn't seem to help. It looks like there are dowels that hold the assembly in line; if that's true, how would hitting the side help? Just asking, since nothing else has worked.

Don't know what happened, but the assembly came off after a couple of mallet whacks today. Thanks for everyone's help.
