One of the local guy here with a shop has a complete kit with the gt28r turbo down to a pwr intercooler, etc...basically complete. Well, Before I buy I wanna know if theres any way you can identify it being a gt28r. I mean, is there some letters and serial on it? he wants $1500 for it. hes also including 450 injectors plus a 7psi base map and a 3bar too. I don't think he'll try to scam me or anything, I just wanna make sure before I go ahead and buy it.

ps. I try searching on here, yahoo and garrett page. no luck so far

Get all the part numbers off the turbo, I've been really hot at matching them lately.

Faster spooling, better flowing, and more eficent than the older T-series. The GT2860RS is smaller and better than the old T-3 "Super 60" for example.

I check on garrett and they said that if the last letter ends with a R, its a ball bearing. The only thing is, I dont know if its a gt28r or gt28rs or EVEN a gt model.

the gt28r is a ball bearing turbo. They dont call it gt28r anymore, its called gt2560r i think. The gt28r is an NISSAN SR20DET OEM turbo.
