If you have access to or can TIG weld, it'd be easy to dig out the remaining bolt, build up the area and then drill/tap it again. If the rest of the head is in good shape, it might be worth pursuing.

That hole is for holding the valve cover down. It shouldn't see a lot of torque or stress, but the only way I'd make the purchase was if I was comfortable with the procedure Henry mentioned.

Also, make sure you get that surface completely free of oil before you start working on it.

you guys are great, ill look into it. I live on an island in the pacific, so parts here are limited. There are currently no fully functioning heads on craigslist.
