It's not just about the HP. The area under the curve is more important than the peak.

Oh, and then there's the gearing.

If you are expecting to be drag racing on a stock engine, you definitely will not need to worry about hitting 13s with 2500 pounds of weight.

Unless motors are plentiful around you......

Bummer. I guess it is asking alot. I see those All-Motor B series in the 12's and figure no problem with a turbo D but it's easy to underestimate what a stripped/gutted car can do.

So vitaras are pretty much a given if you want 12s. Good to know.

Good points. I was thinking stock dx trans. Maybe some sort of DSM turbo but nothing really small like a k03.

Maybe forget ET and think about trapping around 110mph.

I had a stock z6 with hf manifold and Mazdaspeed ko4 turbo that ran 13.8 on 14" street tires this was around 12psi on pump gas, but I never dynoed it so I can't say how much power it made. I would guess that a 200whp d16 on slicks with good driver could come close to 12s. That next year I ran 11.7 @117mph with vitara block stock head and ebay turbo on pump gas.

At what race weight roughly was the 11.7 run made at? 117 is moving. Sounds like you may be over 300hp.

2400 lbs with driver stock Z6 with IHE, 20" slicks, 85 shot = 13.09 @ 103

Launch at 7500 rpms with 12.5 lb flywheel and used Centerforce Dual Friction clutch

About 185 whp, but the torqs :)

That sounds like an optimized setup. At least you can obviously drive. Was that stock gearing? Guessing by your name probably not

Apparently, all you need is a late model F150 Ecoboost 4x4

That's half the problem lol! I can't keep up with pickup trucks that don't know we're racing:icon_frown: Crap, minivans are running 15's now and lsx turbo fox body fords are in the 7's. It's like 12's are barely consider fast.
