it depends on ur cams ,ecu how high u can rev,and if u want to rev it like 8-9000 rpm u need to build ur bottom end too like d pistons.

pistons dont matter for high revs....... b16s rev to 8200 all day with cast factory pistons....high compression yes..........high revs need strong rods and a good balanced crank and rotating assembly.

There are two reasons why Honda sets a rev limit:

1) the stock cam runs out of power at about the redline

2) the bottom end is designed to survive for years at that point.

If you do not improve the bottom end of your engine and you go past the factory redline on a regular basis, there is a good chance that you will throw a connecting rod.

What limits the redline more than anything would be the valve springs and valves. Floating a valve is usually the first mishap of an engine that is being over revved

i have a crower st 2 cam and my car makes power to about 7500
the only way you will known is to dyno your car and then see
i rev my to 8000rpm when iam racing and it has ben like that for 2 years

my DZ6 can go 2 7600 RPM chipped.. efter 7300-7400 it sound like no plz stop dont :) but hey dont have the springs/retainers or power for it so !?? thats fine ! but been like this for 3 years ! no prob ! but stock i would NOT go over 7600 RPM !!!

I can rev to 8500 everyday with my Gude headwork and stock bottom end, my car still makes power past that but I've learned from experience that 8500 is all the block can handle, it doesn't like 10grand to many times before it pops.
