how can i get it off?
punching it from the top, or under? does it even matter?

ffs, I've waisted too much time with that shit.

Buy a set of cheap dowel punches. Then be glad knowing that you will never have this problem again.

I used a screwdriver and hammer. Hit near the split toward the split. Every time you hit it, it has some force to compress the spring and to push it out.

Damn that's tough to describe... If someone understands what I said and can make it clearer, please do so...

i disconnected the shift rod from the shifter's end, was ten times easier.
then i got the spring pin off, but after i had allready taken the engine out :)
2ez.

the body is going to the junkyard anyway so... i made a little hole.. :D
that way i didn't have to lift the engine up at all, i just pull it off :D
