this may be another idiot question but please help. im swapping a jdm 98 zc into my 90 civic si. i gather that its a d16y7 which is basically the same engine. im using my old IM and TB, tranny, and alternator. heres my question. the driverside mount doesnt bolt onto the new engine. it stands to reason that ill have to take the bracket off the old engine that the mount bolts to, and swap it to the new engine. is this right?

If so ill have to take the timing belt cover off and everything. ive never read of anybody having to do this. thats why im asking. im sure its a stupid question but i figure may actually get some help here instead of a derrr duhhhhh type of reply.

sounds right. Im not a zc expert, but sometimes they have a 2 bolt or 3 bolt drivers side mount. If yours doesnt bolt up, just do like you said and rip the old one off and swap over from the other motor. if that wont work, then you might need a mount kit or something. But It a D, it will probably drop right in.
