So I recently bought a 97 civic with a Y8 and it had a high idle the guy says I need a obd2a to obd2b jumper harness but I can’t find it anywhere so that’s that actually exist?

Dont blindly order or buy parts at all until you figure out what exactly you are dealing with.


You can check which ecu you are running.

You can check which engine harness you currently have.

And you can check which distributor you have to verify you even have OBD2a or OBD2b. The differences are known, and quite simply, 96-98 or 99-00 fitment electrically.

IACV is gonna be 2wire or 3wire.

Again, find out what parts you CURRENTLY have, then you can work on what you need.

IAC valve may need to be replaced. While it’s idling, unplug the connector to it, this should lower the idle because this closes the iac valve. If the rpm’s don’t decrease the valve is not working right. (Check engine light will come on when u unplug it.) I have 392k miles on my d16 and am on my 3rd IAC valve.
