the y7 or y8 cam gear are the one's you have to use with the a6 cam to correct the timing issue being off a half tooth.
i know the timing was due to using a 1.5 block but since this is a 1.6 i wanted to make sure it was all good

no use the 88-95 cam gear.

the y7 corrects the a6 cam in a d15 block due to lower deck height IIRC

another thing, the y7 block has no oil restrictor in it like 88-95 non-vtec blocks have, it is built into the y7 head. I don't know if it will be a problem with oil pressure to the head..i'm used to hearing about removing the restrictor (on older blocks) when using vtec heads.. but now you may need one for a non-vtec head...
