the cel and the problem are the same thing. the car is throwin a cel cuz it cant relate to the signal that the crank angle sensor is outputing. Therefore throwin the ecu into limp mode. Check for shorts in the wires, and grounds oun your motor. If that doesnt help then trace all the wires back to the ecu and check for shorts and test the crank sensor by way of helms or a haynes manual. Your timing might be off a half tooth but im not sure, mine was with my a6/y8 mini me , buti quickly corrected that with my adjustable cam gear, advanced 4.5* in my case.Try clearing up the CEL code...as in fixing the problem.
