Ok, I just jumped my ECU due to my CEL light on, and i got a code 45 which states that my "System is too lean or too rich malfunctioning fuel monitoring system". i have just recently installed a delta 260, aem cam gear (still set at 0), and a y8 manifold about 2 weeks ago, and the CEL light came on about 2 days ago. has anyont run into this problem, what can i do to fix it? your help would be greatly appreciated. thanks! oh yeah, my car is a 98 dx d16y7 with said mods and a Short ram intake.

i reset the ecu about a week after the installs, but the light cam on within the week. after i reset the ecu the light still came back on after a day. i don't think that the secondary 02 has anything to do with it, because i never touched it. anyone else have an idea as to what the problem may be or how ti fix it? i'll try the tb cleaner tomorrow maybe. should i get an afc? would that help?

It could be your o2 sensors. Count the CEL's again, and then. If this still occurs it could be something as dumb as a Fuel Filter, or something as Serious, ok well not to serious, as silly stupid injectors.

i'm gonna check the o2 later today hopefully that is the problem. the fuel filter is about 1 year old, so i don't think that is the problem. how do i check the injectors? do i get injector cleaner? i know that these injectors came with the y8 mani. i'll let you know how it goes. thanks for the reply.

ok, i thought maybe cleaning my manifold and tb with some cleaner might help and resetting the ecu, but after a few rides around town, the CEL light came back on again. tomorrow i'll check the o2 sensor and rest the ecu. i'll let you guys know how it goes. thanks for all the replies and help.

Get a wideband kit. I forget who had a deal on one for like 500 bux, with the o2, the program software, and everything else you need.

OK, i guess the CEL 45 problem is solved. When swapping out the y8 mani onto a y7, keep the y7 injectors. I changed the injectors back to the y7's and reset the ecu and the CEL light hasn't come on since.
