Ex headers will work, in fact work better, and give you more options as far as aftermarket exhausts go. You will have to extend your O2 sensors, depending on what you get. If you get a header designed for a 96-90 civic, you will only need to extend your second O2 sensor. If you get a header designed for a 99-00 civic, you will have to extend both.

I believe you will find that DC headers seem to be the best for the price

yeah dc is good...but to save money...compare the inlet and pipe diameters to those on cheaper headers...like ractive...they're all mostly the same shyt in my experience...a ractive header will produce similar...if not the same power gains as a dc...and for about half the price

just my 2 cents...if im wrong feel free to correct me

its not always diameter though guys, it is also the quality of the welds and the bends and such. That's why the more expensive brands have crazy amounts of hours on dynos with R&D, where these smaller companies don't have the facilities to do all the testing. You get what you pay for in my experiences, which is why I run Comptech everything!

well i have used hp racing headers on my crx and 92 vx w/d16z6. i dont know what the actual hp increase but when i ran my crx, i had intake and a muffler and i ran a 16 flat. then i put on the headers and use an 89 integ ecu and ran 15.6. in my opinion, its the best bang for the buck header out there. shit it only cost me 185 shipped on ebay, brand new. the down side is that it was chrome but didnt matter to me. just my 2 cents.

did the chrome finish fade or tarnish on the hp headers...i saw some dyno of them in SCC and they made like 7whp (dont quote)??

thanks

something to keep in mind if you're in CA like me... Swapping the header will eliminate your cat, unless you go with an ex header and ex cat... and NO aftermarket cat will pass emissions on that thing, trust me i've been there... 'high flow' cats are not cats, but rather resonators that look like cats =) My advice; DC 4/2/1 or 4/1, ex cat, and strap on an ex cat-back at the same time to avoid any unnecessary cutting/welding.

Having no cat on the car wont damage your vehicle or throw clouds of smoke from the exhaust. It will however get you a ticket from the highway patrol if they decide to look under your car........Not a fixit ticket
