is the motor i have a zc series i have an 89 integra with the d16 a1 j spec motor that i had to order bc i blew my other motor but i got the motor straight from Japan so i am kinda of confused on the whole thing so if u could let me know bc the usdm d16 a1 is only pushing [email protected] and the jdm is about [email protected] so if u could help me with this one

Look at the engine stamp, straight down from the dizzy, where the tranny bolts to the block. It should read ZC with some numbers below it. If it says that, you know you've got yourself a ZC block at least. If it says D16a1, you got ripped.

if its a D16 u should be able to see it from the front of the car, my friends who have ZCs have theirs behind.. ie if your looking from the front of the car, its going to be on the other side of the block

on 88-89 teg engines ZC or d16a1......
The engine stamp is where fooshnickens said it was at...

Clearlly visible in line with the dizzy, left side of the exaust manifold (or header...)
Right before the tranny....


The main difference between the ZC and D16a1 is cams, a 4-2-1 stock header, and ecu

If it does say d16a1...................... it is a usdm motor not a ZC....
