good prices too !

what is this flywheel upgrade ? will i need it ?

i'm embarrassed with part/numbers, my car is '88, tranny too (L3 model)
but engine is '92 (D15B2). this one came with civic since '92 in europe, but surely since 88 in USD/JDM, no ?

you can have a look at http://hondacar.free.fr/range honda.htm for honda europe

I don't know if this is applicable to Europe, but in the US and Japan, the 88 trannys had 21 splines on the input shaft.
Everything for 89-91 had 20 splines.
But the 89 clutch disc was smaller then the 90-91. If you get a 90-91 flywheel (this is upgrade mentioned) you can run the larger diameter 90-91 clutch on the 89 transmission.

You want to get the clutch that matches the year of your tranny, not the motor.

i asked to my french honda dealer today,
and this one can't give me info about number of spline and disk diameter with my serial number

i asked to canadian honda dealers too,
but it seems my european serial number is different of the us serial number, and this one can't give me the info too :x

so if someone read this post and knows a good trick to identify my trannyand say how many splines and disc diameter, here is the serial numbers:

car: JHMEE17200S001957
tranny: L3 1299929
first wheel turns: september 29th 1988

the tranny serial number means nothing.

Likely you have the standard 1988 clutch, 21 spline, 200mm clutch plate.

If Exedy lists the OEM replacement for the 88, I would try it.

Since your in France though, I HIGHLY suggest you inspect the tranny/clutch before ordering.
