Stock is fine.

Where are you finding a lot of options for D series girdles? As far as I know, no one does anything for the D series, only the B series. ARP or others dont even make main studs for our engines.

On most versions of the D, the main caps are part of the girdle, and they are matched and machined to the block they came with. They are not interchangable with other blocks without getting a different girdle line bored/honed to match the block. Making a girdle for our engines would require the company to have the block in order to machine the two pieces to match, golden eagle does for their B series girdles.

Another reason aftermarket manufacturers likely dont make anything for our engines is 1) its a D series, and 2) the girdle also doubles as the main oil galley for the bottom end of the engine. This likely isnt a showstopper for aftermarket companies wanting to make girdles, but it is another source of liability if something broke. B series engines dont have this problem.

I just took a second look at the so called options and the majority of what I'm seeing is in fact for b series my apologies and thanks for the advice. Will this one suffice. 115403422907

If you're referring to this ebay post:

That girdle is NOT something that works with a D series, the ebay listing is incorrect. No D series bottom end looks like that.

This is a B series bottom end, the main caps are free floating, and the main oil passage is inside the block, not part of the girdle. The girdle brace you show in the ebay posting will fit something like this:
Bicycle part Gas Motor vehicle Wood Auto part

Automotive tire Bumper Automotive exterior Gas Bicycle part

These are D series, note how (with the exception of the A6 example), the main caps cast as part of an OEM girdle, which doubles as the main oil gallery. There is NO room in which to use the girdle brace as shown in that ebay listing, its just not physically possible.

D16A6, 2 piece bottom end, steel main caps with cast aluminum girdle/oil gallery:
Automotive tire Gas Wood Engineering Auto part

Almost all D16Z and Y series, 1 piece main cap/girdle/oil gallery casting:
Automotive tire Automotive exterior Rim Motor vehicle Gas

Engineering Gas Machine Auto part Metal

Gas Automotive tire Automotive exterior Engineering Motor vehicle

There is NO room to use this thing on a D series, because its for a B series!!!
Wheel Tire Automotive tire Automotive exterior Rim

Ok thanks that pretty much answers all my questions
400hp is easily attainable with a Vitara build using the stock girdle.
