So let's start this by saying me and my friend are total Honda noobs, we just bought this 91 hatch for $500 to learn on and maybe have some fun with it. I'm from the DSM community. It chipped the valve about 5 minutes after we bought it, and we limped it all the way about an hour home. What would be the cheapest way to get this thing back on the road? Finding a whole new engine? (We're considering a few swaps) Finding a used head? Which heads would work best with the 15B1 bottom end? I'd love to check the classifieds, but damn I gotta make 60 posts. So junkyards for now.

Cheapest would be ordering a new valve.
If thats the only thing wrong with the motor.

Aa far as a swap. There is tons of different routes you can go. It all depends on how much your trying to apend and what your trying to do.

#3 exhaust valve, find a D15B7 head to slap on, remove the choke plate under the throttle body, swap D15B2 ecu.

This is common on DPFI motors. They will still drive on 3.5 cylinders, put 3000+ miles on one before it turned in for salvage title. Had to run 4th gear (DX trans) up hills if running AC...or turn the AC off. Sounded like a go kart, was still faster than a del Sol S.
