First new car 2013 Civic EX

Bought my very first new car on Thursday. I always told myself I never would but the wife has put her foot down. Once we get a house with garage space I can then purchase something much MUCH older and be happy.

Dont get me wrong, I enjoy the features a lot. Being able to plug in a flash drive and have literally ALL of music collection at my finger tips is awesome. The cabin is much quieter than her 1999 EX and feels like a Mercedes compared to my 89 LX.

I do not appreciate the way the front end feels so huge, nor do I care to have the A pillars in full view but what can you do.. Today's safety requirements have changed the look of cars for the worse..

Anyways.. here are the details

2013 Honda Civic Ex w/Navigation

$20,964.84 OTD

12 miles

Polished Metal Metallic w/black interior

Overall the car is nice. I low balled and fought like heck to get them under 20k but gave up. I still think I got a great deal, I just don't fall into the category of buyers who are desperate to get into a new car. I'm not impressed with how the car feels suspension wise. If I put new shocks and springs on our '99 EX I bet it would feel quite similar.

Goal for the car is to serve as my daily driver car. I make monthly trips to the valley and Sacramento so now I have a reliable way to do so. I guess it will look good pulling in and out of the office. Responsible, simple and not flashy.

Mods will be subtle. I ordered weathertech floor mats because I am around a lot of children. I will swap out all the bulbs for LED and I am debating if I should stop there.

I have a set of 17x8 RPF1's that I can pick up any day from a close friend.. but then I would have to lower it.. and well see I suppose

Those wheels aren't the best looking, but if you keep it all stock then it will be easier to not get the mod bug :) What engines do those have anyway now?

I like the wheels...to each their own though.

I like the new civic styling, don't like what they did with the SI engine but the body looks good. Congrats on the purchase

Three words.

Leave.

It.

Alone.

Give it gas, feed it oil, clean it every two weeks and don't touch it aside from functional, cosmetic mods. If you really feel the itch, get a set of yellow seat belt pads and some self-adhesive fender vents, but that's it. Project cars are meant to be quirky, unreliable money pits, but daily drivers are not.

Nice score.

I like the interior, and the rear end.. its just so long I am so used to the short dash boards of the mid 90's civics.

Thanks man

Leave it alone only do the LED and mats. Skip on the rims and just DD the thing and continue to play with the 88.
Congrats on new ride

Hey bro long time no see! Yea plan on leaving it alone. Sold the 89.. She went to a friend tho, family in need of a reliable car so I sold it super cheap.
Congrats, feels good to be the only owner once.

What I don't like about new Civics is the GIGANTIC WHEEL GAP. Fuck LED's, put some springs on that thing.

Very safe vehicle might I add, according to the crash-testing.

Yes very good ratings. Which is good because we have kids at my house a few days a week.

Purchased some LED replacement bulbs for the interior and reverse lights.

UPS "lost" my shipment so Amazon has sent them a 2nd time

Ill post pics with a review of how I feel about the car at the same time.

Sounds like someone at UPS had a brand new civic too.
Yea it sounds like quite the scam.. I was standing at my front door when I heard the truck drive into my complex. He never got out of the truck. Then suddenly i got a text saying my package had been delivered.

Its ok I reported it to Amazon and UPS and posted it on their twitter page. My items should arrive tomorrow.
So I got a new job, moved twice and have only been in San Mateo for 3 weeks and the car has been hit at work twice and once on the way. I swear these uppity spoiled privileged kids in this city are going to drive me insane.

I gave the car to my wife. She has the longer commute and there is less chance of breakdown with a brand new car so I don't have to worry since shes in a bad area of San Jose.

I transfered the title of her 99 EX to me so I now drive that. Post a thread soon.
I think you got a good deal on that here in nys I test drove a 2012 ex-l without nav and it had 10k on it dealer wanted 19k I offered 16. He looked at me like I was high. He told me 18,500 I told him fuck that and left! Congrats man! Enjoy
