Well im getting exhaust smell in my car? I replace my gasket where the header bolts to the head, also put in new studs and nuts. Well im wondering if a stock gasket will work for the gasket that goes where the top part of the header bolts to the bottom,or where it goes from 4 then 2-1 that gasket. Also anyone else had this problem and what have to done to fix it?:bigok:

If you think the exhaust is sealed up pretty good, start at the O2. Is your ecu stock?

ive never had this problem with my honda but when we put new headers on my friends 67 mustang he had to keep checking and tightening the header bolts cuz some big V8's tend to leak a lil when u first put new headers/header gaskets on.

ecu is turbo edit but its tuned it runs abit rich not much.

Bingo! Swap it out for a stock ecu...smell bye bye. Had the EXACT same issue...swapped in the stock P28, BAM no smell!

maybe its as simple as the rubber cover fell off over your shift rod port hole..

Look for rust spots in your exhaust system.

Aside from the exhaust manifold gasket, have you done any other exhaust work recently?

i put on all new gaskets and i swapped ecus and same smell, also my rubber boots i off and well i looked down the hole and boom. There is a penny sized hole in my test pipe. So found my problem. Thxs for all the ideas
