whats up honda guys! I'm new to the forum so excuse my ignorance. i have 95 civic 4 door 5 speeds with a d15b7 engine. One of the piston's rod broke and made 2 holes in the engine block. I got my hands on d16y8 engine off a 98 civic coupe with automatic tranny. What type of modifications or parts would I need to have the d16y8 swap on my civic. I'm not looking to build a race car or drag race on the street, I want a reliable every day driver car for work. Any advice would really help since I'm pulling the d16y8 engine off the car tomorrow morning and if I need harness or ecu, I can get everything out at once
Thanks..

1) this is not a diy. should be in noob forum.
2) there is a thing called google and a search function in the site. learn it, use it, love it,
3) profit

welcome to the forum but wrong place to post, id take the ecu and all of the harnesses and whatever else you think you might need. Rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Google and the search function on this forum will be your best friend for gathering this info.

Google, you will be going from obd1 to either obd2a or obd2b, you will need to convert either the car to match the motor or the motor to match the car. Mounts may be slightly different.

I was told to just bolt on the intake and exhaust manifold from the d15 to d16 and it should run just fine, but then other people tell me to swap ecu and harness together with the d16.

Notes:

This is not a DIY, therefore it's being moved to the n00b forum.
This is a duplicate of a thread that's in the n00b forum so this one's getting locked.
If you're having to ask these questions, you definitely need to search.

Please enjoy the forum and welcome!
