I have a 1989 Lx Sedan. My Rear Bumper Rebar has rotted out. I assume this is very common, especially after the 6 Hondas I looked at over the weekend were all rusted away as well.

I am looking to replace this Reinforcement bar.

I have searched for weeks for countless hours for this thing. Everyone says it is discontinued. I cannot find a single one.

I was told the 88-89 is NOT the same as the 90-91. Though I have not had the opportunity to find out myself, I believe it.

I read of someone using pine board.

I feel like I will eventually just be fabricating one on my own.

If anybody has one to sell or any leads to finding one, that would be greatly greatly appreciated.

What kind of modding did it entail? I'd have to do the opposite of you if I found the 90-91 rebar.

Ah see I must have gotten you confused somewhere. I don't need the bumper support. I need the reinforcement bar.

When I first started looking for it, I was searching "support bar" and realized I had the wrong wording. Those are 2 different bars.

I need what is #22 in this link, not #26. But I won't pay $250 for it lol

I found it!

NPDLink.com is the place(if anyone else is looking).

Also, I need to find the replacement bumper bolts and washers. The washers I'm talking about are rubber..

I'm pretty much looking for all the factory rear bumper hardware...

You're not alone!
They all do that. No seriously, ALL of them haha.
It's impossible to find one a shelf without shelling out $$. You could get lucky and find a good one in a junk yard or from a partout, but they disappear quick.

It's not hard to fabricate one from scratch with some aluminum stock and a little creativity. I've done it before, and will be doing it again to the car pictured above in the coming weeks.

I just bolted on two 90* brackets from home depot and ran 2 10mm bolts through the bumper cover. My car is also a shit box.
A flat piece of angle aluminum running the length of the bumper and some thin stainless tube for braces on the ends works very well. Works on shitboxes and show cars alike.
