What’s up guys! I’m new to the site but I just picked up a 97 DX Auto and plan on doing the auto to manual swap since the motor was blown when I got the car I might as well slap a 5spd on when I drop the new motor in. Could you guys point me to any good threads on here regarding auto to manual swaps . Any advice or tips would be appreciated too!

Im guessing you did not try something like "auto to manual civic" on google?

TONS and TONS of very detailed threads covering this in multiple angles, budgets, and parts.

Lots of ways to achieve this. fastest working, oem appearance, nearly 100% oem, quick and dirty, etc...

Your best bet for the easiest time is to find a dead or cheap manual 1996-1998 civic, as 99-00 have slightly different wiring and parts.

Then yank and transfer as needed

If u find a donor car ur halfway there. When the pedals are installed ur like almost done even if the tranny is still sitting on the floor.

I had never turned a wrench on a honda and it was super easy. Except the pedals.

I also did it outside under a pop up tent drenched by February pnw half frozen rain. It was gnarly.

Do it inside if it's rainy.
