i came up on these 2 trannys( dx and si) at first i was just gonna put all the EX gears into the DX case, but then i started thinking about building a hybrid, but i dont know much about what gears to use so i need a little help to decide what gears to use.. any help/advice would be appreciated

is it true that the only difference in the SI and DX is the final drive? i read this on honda-tech a few minutes ago

ive heard the same thing too, cause if so shouldnt dx syncros work in an si? i have an si trans thats has good bearings and a dx with goos syncros.....hmmm i see something happening here if thats true.....

what year trannys are you working with?

1974 and 1986 ?

im retarded sorry, i forgot to mention the si's case is broken..thas why i was going to put the gears from it in the DX case

It's true that between the 88-91 DX/Si the only difference is the FD.

92-95 is a different story.....

yeap...

but im not 100% sure the si complete gear assembly can be swapped into the dx case....

it can, but you have to use the DX outer bearing, one on the mainshaft, two on the countershaft, then reshim the mainshaft per helms after stipping it.

The ring gear, just unbolt and swap.

It would take me a good 4-5 hours to do it......
