Motor was smocking blue. Mostly when i slow down, shift down, so high vacuum, we figured out that its the seals, not Rings, compression was good too.

So i got:

16 Seals, y8 gasket, and ARP head studs.

1. But now i got to think, do i even need to replace the head studs and HG or i can get away just with the seals?

Its not a bad idea to do the HG, to make sure things are solid, but is it that necessary?

2. Anyone has a good write up on "how to do seals" or can link me to one, that would be great.

3. if i do end up doing the head gasket too, what would be best to clean the carbon with?

thanks

just do seals for now and see what it accomplished. if you get the pneumatic valve closing mechanism, you dont even have to pull the head when you remove the springs

id be willing to bet that you have worn guides as well though
