factory specs are .007 and .009 but a few folk run them a thou tighter so either one works fine its just a matter of personal preferance. rule of thumb is tighter gives more bottom and loose gives more top

never heard of it b4..

so is 6 and 8 too tight..

i heard that having em too tight could burn a valve..

i dont want that shit. i just got this motor:yes:

Wouldn't having less clearance produce slightly more lift and duration therefore giving more top end?

I just checked mine yesterday. Been over a year since my last adjustment.

# 1 were loose at I&E
So was # 2 at Exhaust

I've always used 7/9 on the tight side when I lock (8/10 must not fit at all or I redo, bad back and all)

This time I tried 5/6 to see if this spec would be better. Same amount of feeler tightness.

Cranked it up. Was spuddering all over. The crower2 didn't like it at all.

Readjusted to 7/9. Back to purring like a kitten.

I think i'll stick to 7/9 for the rest of my life.

We had a talk about this in OCO. Luke aka LiveforPhysics mentioned 7/9 becomes a very even 5/5 when the engine reaches normal temps.

I seriously think "Honda knows best" this time.

cool!!

i'm using a delta 272..it HATES .006in, .008ex..

shit doesnt idle unless you give it gas..

i'm using .009 & .011 now..idles very good! I wanna try .007 & .009

But i have surging idle since installing this new skunk 2 mani = [

^^, ^, yeah, but your talking using the tighter clearance with a cam. That changes things a lot. I've had success with running the clearances a little tighter. my y8 mini-me is super quiet.
